Quite Possibly
the Most Effective Advertising in the World
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could advertise on a
page where people are actually performing an
internet search for the product you are selling?
Ideally your ad would appear in a
similar format to the actual search results that the
user is receiving. And to make this advertising even
more exciting, you would only have to pay a fee if
someone clicked on the link to your site, which
would be contained in your ad.
Well this isn't a
fantasy. This is an advertising option
offered to you by the folks at Google. They
call this
form of advertising Google Adwords. |

I believe this method of advertising to be the most
innovative, effective, efficient and economical form
of advertising available any where in the world. I
truly believe that and I have never met anyone
capable of convincing me otherwise. I have built my
entire internet business on the back of Google
Adwords. Of course I use other forms of advertising
in my business, but from day one I have been using
Google Adwords.
This form of advertising is referred to as Pay
Per Click (PPC) advertising. This section is
about Google Adwords specifically, but you can
explore related information in the PPC section of
the Net Biz Boardroom website.
How
Do the Adwords Work?
You figure out what people are typing into the
Google search engine when they are seeking a product
like yours. The words / terms that they are typing
into the search box are known as keywords. To
learn more about keywords, see my Keyword Research
section.
Each ad you place in your Google Adwords (GAW)
account will be triggered when a pre-selected
keyword has been searched. So if you are selling
self help audio books, then you would figure out
which keyword(s) people are using to search for self
help audio books.
Here is an example. Let's assume that someone has
entered the keywords "self help audio books"
into the Google search box.
Below is a screenshot of the results they would
receive (as of the writing of this article). I have
inserted a yellow highlight in the image to
distinguish the adwords from the search results.
The sites listed in the
non-highlighted area are the
sites of folks that are doing something right in the
way of search engine optimization (SEO). Google has
determined that those sites are relevant to the
keywords specified by the searcher. These are
commonly referred to as the free results or
the natural search results. Those people are
paying nothing for an appearance in Google's search
rankings.
