For those of you that are
marketing with Google Adwords are probably
familiar with the difference between advertising
on the "search network" vs. the "content
network" side of adwords. If you are not, then
please see the "Adwords" section of this site.
In the past, the content network had a
reputation of being sort of a waste of time. The
clicks were relatively cheap but it was
difficult to target an audience. That's all
changed now. In some of my campaigns the content
network is outperforming the search network for
me. In fact on some of my campaigns I am running
ads on the content network exclusively.
Now I am going to share something with you that
is not well known by most Google Adwords
advertisers.
You can actually list G Mail as a target
placement in your ad campaigns. Obviously if you
are targeting G Mail, then you are targeting a
huge cross section of the internet users. I
would only suggest that you do this on a product
that has mass appeal. CPA offers with teeth
whitening, loans, insurance, weight loss etc are
good candidates.
Here's a video from the folks at Google that
will show you how to add G Mail to your GAW
campaigns.
As always, if you have
questions, drop me an email.
